Being an accomplished sportsman himself James Elliott is no stranger to the practical application of mental resilience, including operational service within Afghanistan, five world records for feats of endurance and playing a high level of competitive rugby, and now a keen Brazilian jiu jitsu competitor.
James Elliott began his knowledge as a resiliency coach while strength and conditioning coaching a National League Rugby team, selected to do so because of his already expansive knowledge after 14 years in the British Airborne Forces - engaging with the young players on a personal level to help them manage the stress of competitive rugby to optimize their performance both on and off the pitch. From there, he was selected to be an instructor in the British Army’s first ever Army Parachute Jumping Instructors platoon, where he began his qualifications in mental health and psychotherapy to better help the young soldiers earn their coveted British Army Parachute Wings, by coaching them the skills of anxiety regulation and emotional intelligence. It would be this experience that would be so influential to James Elliott’s career as his work lead him to becoming the second in command of the British Army’s Mental Resilience Training Program. Leading him to deliver to all branches of the British Army, including Special Forces, soldiers on Pre-Deployment Training and those conducting arduous courses.
Now outside of the British Army, in his fourth year as a civilian, James has become fully accredited as a psychotherapist, runs training and support for vulnerable veterans, has briefed at Oxford University how to communicate better with vulnerable veterans, has run performance coaching for the Paralympic Rowing Team, has designed, developed and delivered the mental resilience training for Scottish and Derbyshire Police and has delivered several key note speaker roles, most notably at FitXpo in Liverpool. James has also completed his Master’s Degree in War and Psychiatry, with distinction at King’s College London. James has published a book which rose to being 25th in the world overall and 9th overall for philosophy. James also has taken on a role as the head of psychotherapy at a clinic and the Harley Street hospital in London, enabling him to balance his considerable charity work and high performing psychotherapy practice.
James has a boisterous daughter named Georgina aged 12, whom he gets to enjoy much more time with. James still enjoys playing rugby, albeit a slightly slower pace, competing in Brazilian jiu jitsu and has many more epic events planned this year.

Colin is married to Abbe, who teaches economics at their local school, and they have two grown-up children, Angus and Mila. Outside work, Colin and Abbe spend a lot of time in the mountains, and Colin referees rugby most weekends.
